Punaista ja purppuraa - Red and purple

Minulla on ollut migreenin täyteinen syysloma, joten sana "rentoutuminen" ei sovi kuvaamaan kulunutta viikkoa. Turha mennä yksityiskohtiin, mutta tuntuu vähän siltä, että nyt olisi aika harkita ihan tosissaan estolääkityksen kokeilemista.

Iloisiakin hetkiä viikkoon mahtui. Tinttamarellista ja Titityystä tilaamani langat saapuivat. Vain jotkut niistä pääsivät mukaan kuvaan.

I have had an autumn holiday full of migraine, so "relaxing" is not the word to describe the week that has passed. There's no need to go into details but I think this might be the time for me to really consider trying a preventive medication.

There were some happy moments, too. I received the yarns I had ordered from Tinttamarelli and Titityy. Only some of them are lucky enough to be in the photo.

Iso vironvillavyyhti on Revontulihuivia varten. Sain erisävyisen pienemmän Ravelry-vaihtoparilta, mutta se ei taida ihan riittää. En ole neulonut tuota lankaa aiemmin, joten Revontulen jälkeen minulla on ehkä parempi käsitys siitä, mitä pienemmästä vyyhdistä kannattaisi tehdä. Keskellä oleva purppuranpunainen hamppulanka aikoo tiskiräteiksi, ja punainen Austermann Royal vasemmalla on jo muuttumassa Paraphernalioiksi.

Ja oikealla on uusin unikaverini Handmaiden Casbah, väri Sangria. Rakastan sangriaa! Minusta se on paras mahdollinen juoma kuumana kesäpäivänä - tietysti sillä edellytyksellä, että se on oikein valmistettu. Joskus Espanjassa myydään tyhmille turisteille "sangriaa", joka sisältää esimerkiksi Fantaa ja muita asiaan kuulumattomia aineksia. Se on liian makeaa eikä siinä ole juurikaan hedelmien makua, koska ne on lisätty sinne näön vuoksi juuri ennen tarjoilua. Minulle sellainen ei kelpaa. Olen sangria-puristi :)

Lankojen alla on Me Naiset -lehden uusin numero, siis lehden jota en koskaan lue, paitsi nyt kun siellä on artikkeli Päivölän Neuleretriitistä. Ehkä ensi kerralla olen itsekin mukana. Siis Neuleretriitissä, en Me Naiset -lehdessä. Juttu kuvineen oli kyllä mukava.

The huge skein of Estonian wool is for the Northern Lights shawl. I received a smaller one in different colours from my Ravelry swap friend, but I don't think it's quite enough for this shawl. I've never knitted this yarn before, so I guess after finishing the Northern Lights shawl I'll have a better idea what to do with the smaller skein. The purple hemp in the middle is going to become wash cloths, and the red Austermann Royal on the left is already turning into Paraphernalias.

And on the right there is my new sleep buddy Handmaiden Casbah, colour Sangria. I love sangria! I think it's the best drink you can have on a hot summer afternoon - when it's made properly, of course. Sometimes in Spain they sell stupid tourists "sangria" which contains for example Fanta and some other ingredients that really don't belong there. It's too sweet and has no real taste of fruits because they are added there for the sake of appearance just before serving. I won't have it. I'm a sangria purist :)

Beneath the yarns there is the latest issue of Me Naiset magazine which I never read, except now because of the article about Neuleretriitti ("knitting retreat") in Päivölä. Maybe next time I'll be there, too. In the Neuleretriitti, I mean, not in Me Naiset magazine. The story and the pictures were nice, though.
